24 inches of snow in 24 hours....seriously

Don't let Andy fool you into thinking he shoveled all that.  Our neighbor had a new snow blower and was happily doing everyone's driveway for two straight days, which made Andy's job much easier.  Although he is still trying to get a sympathy massage out of the ordeal.

We were a little too fascinated with taking photos of the snow to realize we didn't actually get Nicholas in any of the outdoor shots. At least he was nice and warm in his stroller because we did contemplate baby snow angels in all that fresh powder.

Buddies

Nicholas and I finally made it over to visit our friends Asli and Deren.  Deren is just two days older than Nicholas so it was really cute to see them checking each other out.  Of course we tried for some photos...and you'll notice they are still working on sitting up unassisted.

Do we look like we're having fun here moms?!?

And here he is falling forward.  Thankfully I have found the "kids/pets" setting on the camera so the photos don't come out blurry anymore.

Tummy Time

Nicholas has figured out that if he doesn't want to practice "tummy time" each day all he needs to do is take a little nap and he gets out of that daily exercise.  Now he has mastered another way out that doesn't include sleeping, he just leans his 90th percentile head in one direction and his body follows as he rolls onto his back and looks up smiling....so much for that exercise.

We walked over to the Town Center on Friday night with Nana and Pops to see the Christmas Tree and lights.  It was really cold, but Nicholas didn't seem to notice the temps in his winter outfit - which we have nicknamed the "cookie monster" outfit.

Snow Day

I didn't take the weatherman seriously when they were calling for snow yesterday, but they finally got it right.  It snowed about 4 inches where we live, so we ventured out for a couple photos.  It's not every year that it snows before Christmas in Northern VA so it was a treat.

Thanksgiving

We were able to see most of our family over the four day weekend and even some of our extended family.  We had a great Thanksgiving dinner with the Taylor side, where we tried for a cousin photo which Nicholas was clearly not in the mood for (see photos below!).

We met some friends at a parade on Friday and with a ratio of five parents to four kids (ages 4 and under) you'd think we'd be able to have a conversation, but that was clearly something only a rookie parent would assume.  My friend with two kids said, "I haven't finished a sentence or gone to the bathroom with the door closed since 2005!"  Hilarious....and then I realized I'll be saying that one day.

Aunt Kathy, Uncle John and Jenny were so sweet to stay an extra night at Wintergreen to see us and meet Nicholas.  We had a great time with them, lots of laughs!

Two Months Old

Yes, I am catching up on 2 weeks worth of updates and photos.

Here are a couple of Nicholas at two months, the time really is flying by.  At his two month visit, the doctor measured his head and said she was a little concerned that it increased from the 50th % to the 90th % so quickly.  She sent me home with a tape measure to measure Andy's head to see whether or not it was genetic.  Sure enough, Andy's head is above the 90th % so they said it looks like he is taking after his daddy and no need for concern.  He smiles a lot now and is really alert these days, and still sporting the mohawk.

Welcome Emily Lynn!!

Nicholas has a beautiful new baby cousin, Emily Lynn.  We saw her last night over Skype and she is just adorable!!  We already can't wait to get out to Kansas for an in person visit.  They will no doubt be partners in crime just 2 months apart in age.
